A blustery day at Jæren
Yesterday gave the promise of a cloudy day with high winds. Perfect for some action at the coastline of Jæren. A bit photographic “hung-over” from my trip last week to Hardanger and Telemark but still I wanted to shoot. I packed up my gear and drove down the coastline of fair Jæren. The weather at Jæren this day was promising. It could be a good “hair of the dog that bit me” to get me back into shooting. This type of weather is just what gives real drama to landscapes. Driving wind made it a bit hard to find stable conditions to get really sharp images. The windforce was up…

Fliters
In these day and age when one have software like Photoshop, are they redundant? In my case both yes and no. The old special effect filters like soft-focus, star-filters, center-spots, colour-filters for black and white, well since one have Photoshop to do this, and the software does a good a job at it as the old filters, then why carry the deadweight in the camerabag. What filters that Photoshop can’t recreate or have problems recreating are the polarizer and the good old grey neutral density filters (both standars and graduated). Yes, Photoshop can recreate N.D. grads, but I feel doing it in-camera is better, and doing it through HDR-prossessing is…

Getting out
I must say it were refreshing to get out yesterday and fire that shutter. For some days I’ve been frustrated with the lack of some good weather to capture some landscapes of Jæren. To much dull clouds and flatt lights, but yesterday it opened up little bit. And what can I say, it felt good. New Design
As some of you may have noticed, the lay-out and design of the blogg have changed in the last days. This is in connection with that my website Studio Toffa Photography (www.studio-toffa.com) have been updated regarding the design of the homepage. The design-changes on the blog is very obvious, but on the website the updates have been to all the pages. Also the old galleries have been deleted and replaced with just two. One for landscape and one for consertphotography. Check ’em out if you like. Image manipulation
When does an image become a manipulated image? Where does the manipulation start? In camera or when Photoshop takes over?

Lindesnes Fyr
Yesterday was the first time I visited Lindesnes lighthouse in 21year. Last time I was there it was on a summer vacations with my grand parents when I was 12. I can’t say I remember much of the place and I think also it have changed in those 21 years since last time I was there. As much as I love and capture these old monuments of the pathfinder at sea, I must admit that I was a bit disapointed and “shocked” at what they’ve done to the premises surround the old lighthouse. It was in my mind a bit “destroyed” and made tourist-attraction. Yes, I’m all for that we…

Norway, my Norway
Friday was a grim and dark day for Norway. Both with the bombing of Oslo and the shooting at Utøya where 86 youths were gunned down coldblooded by a deranged right-wing terrorist. In this time, Norway have showed their good side, and promoted solidarity, compassion, and a will to reach out a hand to those in need. We have showed that we’re a peaceloving people. Both king and goverment have showed strength and that they’re a part of the people. No cries for more military force or revenge, and I want to sound my voice for the cries for more democracy and justice. There are no justice in screaming to…
