Man or animal?
Even though I normally post my pictures here, I would like to share some thoughts I have about us as a part of nature. For me every thing is a part of nature. None of us are above it just because we’re humans. Yes we can manipulate our habitat, but with that power comes a responsabilty to care for nature. If sheepfarmers have problems with predators that stalk and hunt their animals, well then they have to employ a herder, and not go on a rampage with their hunting buddies to kill every animal they suspect could be the guilty one. The same goes for the nature it self. Even…

Baptised in snow and ice
Here are some pictures from my trip to Sirdalen (Sir Valley) in West-Agder county. This was a rather spontanious trip in some part as I’ve only planed for a trip to Gyadalen (Gya Valley), but as I saw that the weather was getting better further in valley I just kept driving. Not only were my aim to take some new pictures, but I was also out to test my new Nikon MB-D200, that I resently purchased. In the beginning of the trip through Sirdalen, few opertunities presented them self as any striking scenes for photography as the sun was high and the valley was filled with snow. I began to…

Tungenes Fyr / Tungenes lighthouse
Tungenes Fyr (lighthouse) is the northern tip of the district Jæren in the county Rogaland. This is one of my regular sites where I do my landscapes. Some of these pictures will be displayed here. I also would like to tell you a bit about this lighthouse as it’s one of my favorite places to go to when I need to get out and clear my mind. Tungenes lighthouse is a wooden lighthouse built in 1828 and rebuilt in 1862 and 1898, and taken out of service in 1984. To day the light is moved to a little island called “Bragen” that lies a bit out in the sea from…

The trip to Lista
To begin with the planned trip for today started out as not being a trip at all as I ended up with another night with problems to sleep. But I felt that I needed the trip so I pulled myself together and packed the car, and of we went.Lista Lighthouse was not like I remembered it. It was not in a good light and I feared that I would go home emptyhanded. Oh, how wrong I were. On the way home we stopped for some coffee, and suddenly the bad light hade turned into a golden hour. With lush light the autumncolours shone like embers, and the wind was still so…

Nikon Photo Contest International 2010-2011
Then I’ve entered the years picture for the NPCI. Now it’s just to cross one’s fingers and hope. That Nikon D3s who be nice, even though my wish is the Nikon D3x as it’s more for me as I do landscapes. I have no need for a speedy camera, I need one with juiced up resolution. And hey, 24 MP is no bad place. He he. But one can’t demand the price of you choice. And a D3s is better than my trusted D70.
