Tungenes fyr
Original published 25-Feb-11 09:03, but revisited 01-Okt-12. Tungenes Fyr (lighthouse) is the northern tip of the district Jæren in the county Rogaland. This is one of my regular sites where I do my landscapes. Some of these pictures will be displayed here. I also would like to tell you a bit about this lighthouse as it’s one of my favorite places to go to when I need to get out and clear my mind. Tungenes lighthouse is a wooden lighthouse built in 1828 and rebuilt in 1862 and 1898, and taken out of service in 1984. To day the light is moved to a little island called “Bragen” that lies a bit out in the sea from…

An interview with my self
Here is an interview I did with my self based on a blog post of what questions you should often ask a photographer. It's not ment as a serious post in any sense, just as more in depth part of my About Section.

The tripod search
Originally posted 13 September 2011, but with some updates. As I mainly shoot landscapes, a tripod is as essencial as the lens and filters, so I thought I should share a little my experience with the tripods I use. For the past year I’ve been searching to find a tripod to become my main tripod. I’ve looked at many tripods as I want one that’s sturdy, lightweight, good quality and don’t cost you an arm or a foot in purchase since I’m on a budget. And yes, many of my heros use Gitzo. Moose Peterson uses Gitzo, Joe Cornish uses Gitzo, and the list goes on and on, but for…

Filters
In these day and age with powerful editingsoftware like Photoshop and Lightroom, have filters become redundant? My answer is both yes and no. The old effectfilters like softfocus, starfilters, colorspots, colourfilters for b/w photography, colour-correction filters, warm-up and also the common skylight-filter is now easier and more precise to apply in Photoshop or Lightroom, and to be honest is a large bulk in the camerabag I don’t want to be lugging around anymore. The vacant space in the camerabag is better put to use for a new lens, a flash or some other piece of gear or simply a good reason to move on to a smaller bag. But some…

What format do I regular shoot
What format do I regular shoot? A good question. I tend to lean toward the 4×5 format, finally available in camera with my Nikon D800. The reason for this is that I find it eliminate some compositional problems that I personally have with the edges of the frame. With the native format of the senor I feel the frame is just a little bit to wide and I tend to make compromises with my self esteiquely. Also I find the frame more in tune with what my vision of sight is. The native frame feel more like viewing through a balaclava or the window of a tank. What’s the “cost”? With…

A rather blustery day
It’s been pouring down for weeks and the mood has gone blue. As the light and drama have been abscent, it’s always a treat when the grey sky breaks and gives way for some good landscapes with drama. The shots here were taken at Lindesnes lighthouse at Lindesnes in Vest-Agder county. Nikon D200, Tamron SP lenses and captures on SanDisk digital film.
