Embarking on a Mobile Photography Journey: Introducing Knotten

Hi there, my dear followers!

I hope this post finds you well and brimming with excitement, just like I am! Allow me to share a thrilling update that’s been in the making since the end of August. One of my long-time dreams has finally come true—I am now the proud owner of a campervan/RV, which I’ve affectionately named Knotten. This marvellous vehicle will serve as my mobile base, my sanctuary for landscape photography, and the gateway to new adventures. Join me as I take you through the journey of preparing Knotten and my ambitious plans for the future.

Getting Knotten Ready: The Journey So Far

In the last few months, I’ve invested my heart and soul into preparing Knotten for the grand voyage. It’s been a labour of love, figuring out what I need and what I don’t. Along the way, I’ve encountered a few bumps in the road and technical issues that needed fixing. But isn’t that the essence of every adventure—a mix of challenges and triumphs?

The time spent with Knotten has allowed me to become intimately familiar with this marvellous machine. I’ve meticulously organised the interior, ensuring it perfectly aligns with my vision of a base of operations for my photography ventures.

A Sneak Peek into the Future: My Travel Vlog

Now, let’s talk about what lies ahead on this thrilling journey. As I finalise the last details and resolve the remaining issues with Knotten, I’m filled with enthusiasm to start a new venture—a travel vlog. My YouTube channel will become our virtual platform to explore the world together. I can’t wait to take you along on my travels, showcasing the stunning locations I visit and sharing invaluable insights into the art of landscape photography.

In the vlog, you can expect more than just gear-focused content. My aim is to create a space for photography and travel enthusiasts like you, where I’ll delve into my photography philosophy and offer in-depth tutorials on photography and post-processing.

Untangling the Past: Overcoming Challenges

Amidst the excitement of the present and future, I can’t ignore the mess I’ve found myself in from the past. My previous photography venture under the Studio Toffa Photography moniker faced its own set of challenges. Images that were not concert photography were often down-prioritised, leading to a disorganised archive.

In 2016, disaster struck when my old catalogue experienced a catastrophic crash, thanks to Lightroom. The incident left my old landscape photographs in disarray, and due to the demands of shooting gigs and processing images, I couldn’t find the time to restore the catalogue promptly.

Additionally, in 2019, I came perilously close to losing half of my image archive due to a failing hard drive. Though the data was eventually recovered, the ordeal only complicated the mess with my old images.

A Journey of Restoration: The Road Ahead

Beyond my adventures on the road, I’ve been hard at work fixing the issues that have been nagging me from the past. I am diligently restoring my old image catalogue, giving those forgotten gems the attention they deserve. Simultaneously, I’m focusing on revamping my website, ensuring it aligns with my vision for the future.

As you read this blog post, I want you to know that my journey is far from over. I’m determined to overcome each challenge and seize every opportunity to grow as a photographer and a storyteller.

Thank you for being an integral part of this remarkable journey with me. Your support and encouragement fuel my passion and drive to explore the world through my lens.

Warm Regards,

Toffa and Knotten
