For the first time since I was a little boy I’ve really found peace and calm in nature during a vacation. I must say I really enjoyed my stay at my mother’s aunt’s old cabin at our family’s vacation spot at Stølsvik in Rogaland county, Norway. This is the place where I spent much of the summertime during my childhood. Also Easter was often spent here from a very early age until I was a teenager. After my late teens I’ve had a long period away from vacationing here. Much on account of my depression and my inherent restlessness that’s a result of my AD/HD.
But now I must admit that I’ve had a week of peace and no stress. I got to rise early and capture some fairy tale mornings. Enchanting mist rising off the surface of the lake that’s right by the cabins. Almost like forest spirits dancing. These were really the images that I left with, but the entire trip was so much more about getting some positive experience back to help combat my depression.
All of the images was captured on a Nikon D200 with a Tamron SP 17-50mm f2.8.
Disclaimer: These are the orginal shots from the trip but not the original images I uploaded to the post when I first published it back in 2011. Since both the original blog post images and the edits of these have been lost I’ve had to use my later edits of the same shot.
